About UCMT (Official)
University of Co-operative and Management, Thanlyin is located in Nyaung Thone Bin Village, Thanlyin, Yangon (South District), about 8 miles from the south-eastern part of Yangon, near Thanlyin–Kyaik Khauk Pagoda Road, and close to the Yangon–Thilawa Railway and East Yangon University. The total area of the university is 208.209 acres.
Vision & Missions
Vision: To be a supportive university for community development by nurturing human resources who are qualified and educated social business persons with national and social spirits.
Missions:
- To train and bring up human resources needed to increase socio-economic development.
- To train youths to be good citizens who are knowledgeable and rich in critical thinking.

1970
Co-operative Training School established in Mayangone Township, Chawtwingone, Yangon; later moved to Thanlyin.
21 June 1994
Upgraded to Yangon Regional College under Notification (10/94) (dated 19-5-1994).
11 Nov 1996
Upgraded and renamed as Yangon Co-operative Degree College under Notification (17/96).
2012 (21 June)
Upgraded to Co-operative University, Thanlyin under Notification (29/2012) following Government meeting (20/2012).
2021 (Nov)
Renamed to University of Co-operative and Management, Thanlyin under the stated ministry notifications (MCRD and MoE).
